Inverted Pendulum - The Phase Diagram

In addition to the amplitude diagram, the phase diagram of the inverted pendulum’s motion is displayed here. The angular velocity is plotted against the amplitude (angle). This also allows to observe transitions between order and chaos. In the case of order (harmonic oscillator), an ellipse is visible. In chaotic motion, the trajectory forms a strange attractor.
